Migori Worship Centre

Migori Worship Centre is situated along the Migori - Isebania Highway, Migori town.

It takes 6 hours from Nairobi by road to get to the Centre.

Migori Town/District

Migori is a Metropolitan town comprising of Luos, Kisiis, Luhyas, Kurias, Hindus, Kikuyus among other Kenyan tribes.

Migori District has a population of over 500, 000 people according to the last National Census (1998). It is one of the densely populated districts of Nyanza province, Western Kenya.

To the west of Migori, lies the second largest fresh water lake in the world-Lake Victoria.

To the east, is Maasai Mara Game Reserve which changes to Serengeti Game Reserve in Tanzania.

The major economic activities include sugar cane farming, small scale farming of maize, beans and cassava. Others include fishing and a little bit of gold mining.

Health Risks

Malaria, a disease caused by mosquitoes is the greatest risk in Migori. Most regions except Nairobi and the High-altitude regions are prone to malaria and travellers to such areas are advised to to take anti malarial drugs and to take precautions like using mosquito nets and insect sprays. It is also advisable to take vaccines for such diseases as Tetanus, Diphtheria, Polio, Typhoid, Hepatitis A and B, Yellow fever and Meningitis.
