Msomi Orphanage
There are so many orphaned children with need for an education and love in Migori due to pandemics like HIV/AIDS and Malaria alongside dirty/untreated drinking water. It is because of such beautiful souls that Msomi Orphanage came into being. The Orphanage, is a mixed Day and Boarding Academy within Migori Worship Centre. It commenced its operations in January 2008 and offers Baby Classes, Nursery, Pre-Unit and Classes 1 - 6.
Our projection to orphans is both short term and long term. Currently we are catering for 150 Orphans and needy children, with many still begging and crying to be absorbed into the orphanage.
We provide shelter, food, clothing, the world of God and above all, an education for these orphaned young ones that the Lord has put under our care. Many of these children have accepted Christ as their Lord and savior.
We have within the academy 12 grade teachers and 10 other workers who help the orphans in their day to day well being.
There are many ways in which we all can reach out and help the orphaned here;
- Sponsor a child/children
- Sponsor grade teacher(s)/worker
- Help buy learning materials/school supplies
- Help donate food for the children
- Pray for the Orphanage
- Connect the orphans with penpals
- Visit/Volunteer your time in the Orphanage/Academy
- Help the Academy acquire a school van/bus
- Help put up the second building to host another 200 kids
- Supply paint to paint the current building
